Design considerations for converting W25Q16JVxIQ/W25Q32JVxIQ to W25Q16RVxJQ/W25Q32RVxJQ.

Introduction: This year, Winbond will gradually transition its 3V, small-capacity (1Mb ~ 32Mb) products.
Here, we provide a summary of the design changes for W25Q16JVxIQ/W25Q32JVxIQ transitioning to W25Q16RVxJQ/W25Q32RVxJQ to help users quickly understand the updates.

1. Operation Temp.

W25Q16JVxIQ/W25Q32JVxIQ: -40°C ~ +85°C
W25Q16RVxJQ/W25Q32RVxJQ: -40°C ~ +105°C
 
2. QPI Mode

W25Q16JVxIQ/W25Q32JVxIQ: Cannot execute QPI Mode
W25Q16RVxJQ/W25Q32RVxJQ: Can execute QPI Mode
QPI Mode illustration: Enter/Exit QPI Mode by inputting 38h/FFh respectively.
To reset to the initial state, input 66h + 99h.

4. Write Status Register-1 & Status Register-2

Please refer to Figure 1
For W25Q16RVxJQ & W25Q32RVxJQ, when writing to Status Register-2 to modify data, only the command "31h" + 1Byte Data (S15 ~ S8) is required.
For W25Q16JVxIQ & W25Q32JVxIQ, when writing to Status Register-2 to modify data, the command "01h" + 2Byte Data (S7 ~ S0 + S15 ~ S8) is required.
